Community driven approach
Today many are searching for an alternative to mainstream living. In the race to do more and not be more many feel disconnected to their own thoughts and feel disconnected to others. A community is based on being present. The internet has been a blessing and a curse. The creativity of the internet has been slowly replaced by commercialism. With the wisdom of this we need to focus on long term alternatives such as building alternative communities, short supply chains, coops, collectives, free share concept. This is my commentary section. These blogs will discuss many topics building off the idea of real community. If we ramble a bit with ideas that is good. Developing a future model for NHC to manifest in the real world is one of the goals I want to lay out. Like one of the elders tought me is that we fall and we rise again like the Phoenix. The lessons we learn help with the building blocks for tomorrow. We stay on the horse, not fall off and we don't get on the high horse of arrogance either. There is no place for ego here. Our elders teach us insights into the human mind and why many of us fell off the horse and how it takes a village to set things right. We have a choice to make. It is time we hold sacred ground.
Elders wisdom.
Slow down! Pay attention. The sweetness is there. An elder will test you. My friend is Apache and a medicine women. Her teaching is based on being grounded, to dance, to really be aware of where you are at. She explained to me by how she dances, what she wears, she speaking to me in subtle ways. You do not always need words to learn about the sacred ways. It is right there, her seriousness is intense but she does it in a loving way. She always finds a way to smile and give thanks for the sunrises and sunsets. With all that is going on in the world grounding and smudging offers us peace of mind. Troubles will come and go. Her spirit is of the Phoenix. She was broken, rose again above it and now is there teaching me slowly and with time she will reveal what she wants to to me. I am honored to see her and let her show me wisdom in all its different ways. The spirit travels fast along the mountains, soaring like the Eagle, visions come when you least expect them and elders come to you when you most need thier guidance and wisdom.
Holding sacred ground
The very Earth you stand on is sacred. The mountains and the sky are your relatives. The water the bloodline and the many sacred animals the very spirit that gives us wisdom. We are at an inflection point right now. There is a split 50 50 on the direction the world is going to. A one hearted loving caring world or a two hearted dissonance with war and hate. Our choices will go down in history either in shame or great joy. We must hold sacred ground in our hearts even through the storms of life. The time is now. Ask yourself am I doing or being? If your doing it's time to live for what you came here and start being present, grateful, awake and aware. If you are unhappy in your relationships set things straight and be clear of what you want. If others don't want to go along with your ideas do it anyway. The only person they hurt is themselves if they decide to not be supportive. You decide where you are going. If they don't want to go you cannot do anything about it. Get your house in order and your relationships right. You have big things planned and you must not have distractions. HOLD SACRED GROUND!
The river and the mountain
Here in the mountains you have time to think. There is a time of slowing down and touching the Earth with your entire being. Things change when you are not in a hurry. The river reminds us to keep moving while the mountains remind us of stillness and subtle changes. We can bury ourselves in being busy and forget that our humaness or we can slow down and appreciate the many colors, smells, sounds, feelings that we have. If only we listen to the wind and waters. It only we open our eyes to the beautiful world we live in. Here we are on Indian time. The clock is there only for a reminder for ceremony. The slow procession of the seasons, we feel the sacred Earth. There is only peace once you stop struggling against the tides of change.
Matter of Trust
Trust is slowly earned. You cannot get trust simply by showing up. You must be present and offer your awareness and efforts. Honesty is a very important trait to have in this process. We all make mistakes from time to time, be honest when you do make a mistake. Intention is important because of your intentions are bad people catch on. Being kind, being available and being on time builds that trust. The reason there is so much lack of trust in the world is that there is a lot of bad behavior. I see it a lot, getting into peoples private bubble, talking too loud, yelling profanities and many other bad behaviors. Trust takes even years to build and in can be lost in an instant., think before your anger costs you, act in trust and never break a promise.A white lie today will come and haunt you tomorrow.
January 2, 2026, 11;09 PM. Rejoice through interfaith I found community. You can remain faithful to your spiritual path but be a part of a greater community that supports you and helps educate you on other faiths while doing work to help others in great need. This year is a transition into more collaborative efforts. This outreach is important to bring lasting joy in our community and commitment to creating safe places for practiig our diverse spiritual place.
What is soft power? Soft power is influencing people through positive joyful interactions based on mutual interests and reciprocal giving. Joyful giving is not expecting anything in return but doing it anyway as a good will gesture. Influence is based to trust. Soft power requirements include;
1. Trust building.
2. Listening skills.
3. Networking skills.
4. Problem solving skills.
5. Empathy.
6. Respect.
7.. Common goals.
8. Humor.
9. Joy.
10. Boundary setting.
11. Guidelines not set rules.
Get what you want through attraction and persuasion rather than coercion (force) or payment (inducements). Coined by Joseph Nye, the concept suggests that if you are seen as attractive, credible, and legitimate, others will naturally align with your goals.
In a social circle, you can apply soft power to lead or group your peers by shifting from "commanding" to "attracting."
Strategies for Social Soft Power
- Establish Shared Values: Clearly define and live by positive principles (e.g., loyalty, growth, adventure). When others share these values, they feel a natural emotional connection to you and the group.
- Leverage Personal Charisma and Vision: Use "emotional intelligence" and a clear vision for the group—such as organizing unique experiences—to inspire others to follow your lead voluntarily.
- Practice "Give First" Dynamics: Provide value (advice, support, or introductions) before asking for anything. In social settings, this builds "goodwill," making others more likely to support your initiatives without being prompted.
- Cultivate Expert Power: Gain knowledge in areas relevant to your circle (e.g., travel, niche hobbies, or career insights). Credibility is a scarce resource; being a trusted source of information naturally draws people toward you.
- Lead by Example: Instead of telling people what to do, demonstrate the behavior you want to see. "Quiet influence" through consistent action and deep listening often carries more weight than being the loudest person in the room.
- Use Collaborative Conflict Resolution: When disagreements arise, use empathy and negotiation to find "win-win" outcomes rather than asserting dominance. This maintains group harmony and cements your role as a fair leader.
Key Warning
Soft power is a long-term strategy that requires authenticity. If your peers feel they are being "handled" or manipulated, your efforts will backfire, leading to a loss of trust and reputational damage.
Social media. Section
I am slowly porting my social media here. I am searching for more interactive ways for people to post their thoughts on a bulletin board and interactive features. I am moving away from traditional social media gradually due to many factors but want to remain in contact with my friends. This has been a slow process due to lack of support platforms that are easy to set up and limitations that webpages have. This area will be where I experiment on creating a social space that is not on a mainstream social media platform.
